A mountainous spine runs down the middle of Madagascar dividing the island east and west. Here the central highlands are now almost entirely devoid of natural forest, though a few small fragments remain. Below are photos from three of these small isolated highland forests—the Ankaratra Massif, Ambohitantely Special Reserve, and the area around the town Antoetra.
